DESCRIPTION
Learning to speak Arabic can actually be enjoyable and fun! The SimplyArabic Conversational course has been specially designed for those who wish to acquire a basic proficiency in spoken Arabic. The course imparts basic communicative skills in spoken Arabic and covers basic conversational topics for everyday situations from airport to hotel, eating to clothing, restaurant to shopping and more.
The course provides conversational practices with important phrases and words that are commonly used by tourists, business travellers and people dealing with Arab travellers and visitors (e.g. sales and retail staff). In less than 2 months, the participant will learn enough Arabic phrases and words to conduct typical conversations with confidence.
This Basic Conversational course is conducted over 21 hours - twice weekly, over 7 weeks.
COURSE REQUIREMENT
No knowledge, exposure or familiarity to the Arabic language is required. Although this is a short course of only 21 hours, it is important that the student has an interest to learn about the Arabic language, either for personal reasons (e.g. travel, etc) or otherwise (e.g. business, etc). Students completing this course may undertake the SimplyArabic - Reading & Writing Course and the SimplyArabic Beginners (1) course.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE COURSE?
- Individuals who has a basic interest in the Arabic language but may not be able to devote time for a full study of the language.
- Individuals who plan to travel to an Arabic-speaking country (e.g. Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, etc)
- Business professionals who are in liaisons with Arabic speakers, as the skills learned will enhance the association.
- Company staff that will be stationed in an Arabic speaking country or region.
- Retail staff who regularly or intermittently service Arabic-speaking clients.

OUR TEACHERS
Mohamed Abla was born in Morocco and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Islamic Law) from Hassan II Mohammedia University in Morocco. He is now a Singapore citizen and an accredited Asatizah certified by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Asatizah Recognition Board. He spent 6 years in Malaysia’s Pusat Ulumuddin in Kedah, Malaysia as an Arabic language teacher and Vice-Principal. He subsequently taught in Singapore for several years, before joining SimplyIslam.sg in 2007 as its Arabic Language Consultant and Islamic Architecture Consultant. He also conducts regular interpretation assignments involving Arab trainees from Qatar, Bahrain, etc. While Arabic is his native language, he is also proficient with English and Malay.
Muhammad Salleh is a graduate of Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah and has completed his full-time pre-university studies at the madrasah. He also studied at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He is an accredited Asatizah certified by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Asatizah Recognition Board, and currently teach at SimplyIslam’s weekend Islamic school. He is also SimplyIslam’s Arabic language Consultant and regularly conducts translation and interpretation assignments. He is also an expert on Prophetic healing and medicine and recently conducted the “Prophetic Healing” course at SimplyIslam. He is proficient in Arabic, English and Malay.
Nurida Ho studied at Madrasah Al-Maarif (Singapore) and furthered her studies in Damascus, Syria at the Ma’had Fatah Islami (Islamic Institute of Fatah). She also obtained her Diploma in Arabic Language at the Ma’had Ta’lim Al-Lughah Arabiyah Lil-Ajanib (Arabic Teaching Institute for Non-Arabic Speakers) in Syria. She spent 5 years in Damascus, Syria, immersing and studying the Arabic language. She has worked at Darul Arqam Singapore and Masjid Al-Amin as Arabic language teacher. She is currently the Arabic Language Coordinator at SimplyIslam.sg. She is an accredited Asatizah certified by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Asatizah Recognition Board. She is fluent in Arabic, English and Malay.
